Our Team

"You're always one decision away from a totally different life"

I was born in Butte, Montana and grew up in Seattle, WA and Pendleton, OR. I graduated high school at Thomas Jefferson in Federal Way, WA. My husband Joseph and I live in Lacey, WA. We have 7 grown children, 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who are the center of our lives.

I graduated my first degree in nursing from Blue Mountain CC. I started my career in the hospital working in the medical-surgical unit, emergency department, and obstetric-gynecology unit. While going to school for my graduate program in Psychiatry, I worked as a house supervisor and nurse manager for the sisters of Providence. I then became one of the first Nurse Assists in Surgery on one of my entrepreneurial projects. I obtained my Psychiatry education and training from the University of Washington. I have over 43 years in diverse medical experience,  mostly in Psychiatry. After receiving my graduate degree, I opened a private practice which is still growing in Olympia, WA.

I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. I received my nursing degree from University of Alaska and continued my graduate studies at Gonzaga University, specializing in mental health throughout the lifespan. My focus is comprehensive assessment of mental health needs, diagnosis, collaborative and individualized treatment planning, medication management, and psychotherapy.

My treatment approach combines elements cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and supportive therapy. In addition to psychotherapy, I provide medication management for a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, substance use disorder, and ADHD for ages 13 and up.

I have 23 years of nursing experience, working with people of all ages at the best and worst times in their lives. I look forward to working with you to maximize your mental wellness, increase resilience, and attain your goals in a safe and confidential environment.
